COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
CLOTH, CHEESECLOTH (COTTON)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this
Commercial Item Description for all federal agencies.
1. SCOPE.
1.1 Scope. This commercial item description covers 100 percent cotton cheesecloth.
2. CLASSIFICATION.
2.1 Classification. The cheesecloth shall be of the following items and types.
Item 1- Graded (for cleaning and polishing).
Type I- Commercial Grade No. 90
Type II- Commercial Grade No. 50
Type III- Commercial Grade No. 10
Item 2- Ungraded remnants (for cleaning and polishing).
3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS.
3.1 Material and physical characteristics. The cloth shall plain weave, bleached, and shall meet the requirements specified in Table I when tested in accordance with the test method cited. All dimensions are absolute as defined in ASTM E 29.
