COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
CLOTH, SHEETING (LAUNDRY COVER CLOTH)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description to be used in preference to Federal Specification CCC-C-435.
Salient characteristics:
The cloth shall be plain woven, unbleached 100 percent cotton and shall meet the following requirements:

The issue of the ASTM tests in effect on the date of the solicitation shall be used to determine compliance with these requirements.
The laundry cover cloth shall have a width of 90 inches, plus or minus 1 inch and shall be put up in rolls or bolts of 50 yards, plus or minus 2-1/2 yards, one continuous piece.
Each roll or bolt of cloth shall be labeled, ticketed, or invoiced for fiber content in accordance with the Rules and Regulations Under the Textile Fiber Products Identification Act.
Workmanship. The laundry cover cloth shall be free from holes, tears, dirt spots, and any other defect that would seriously affect its serviceability and appearance.
Certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description, and that the product conforms so the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices and is the same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
Regulatory requirements. The manufacturer shall utilize recovered material to the maximum extent practicable.
Packaging, packing, and marking. Packaging, packing, and marking, shall be as specified in the contract or order.
